Thursday 4th June, four of the five women met at Nichole's. Sadly Jayne couldn't join us but we conveyed all details to her afterwards.
After our usual consumption of tea, coffee and cake we got down to the business of art and our next project. We have an exhibition booked for November this year, (details nearer the time) but we would like to explore the possibilities of creating a collaborative piece or pieces. Joan bought along some very large and sharp thorns she had collected on a recent trip to Africa and Nichole produced a pair of stuffed tights. Alex had her sketchbook and introduced ideas she had recorded and Anjula took photos and cogitated.
After liaising with Jayne a date for a full day making was agreed and the range of materials we wished to experiment with. We all agreed eBay was a very useful resource and returned to our homes to research further.

Tuesday 30th June we five met at Nichole's house with the pre agreed collection of tights and hollowfill stuffing. Alex had an idea she wanted to follow but the rest of us were undecided of our aims. As Alex proceeded with her ideas Nichole launched into a pair of tights, a good wedge of filling, needle and thread.
Jayne made a 'baby', including hair and eyebrows. Joan created a very organic effigy and Anjula had several failed attempts at making stuffed blobs.
By lunchtime Alex was making good progress with her project and Nichole was fully engrossed with her work. Joan worked out how to achieve the 'blobs' I was working towards and Jayne joined in the blob-making.
A splendid lunch of Spinach Pie, salad, chocolate and Pimms was enjoyed by all.
We concluded with Joan, Jayne & Anjula committed to the pleasurable pursuit of blobs. Alex & Nichole were focused on their own projects. Our plan is to have another making day at the end of July to collaborate our work to date.
